Bank Update for Retiree

The security of your data is of the highest priority for FCERA and BNY Mellon. Recently, several states have enacted legislation regarding the use of Social Security Numbers (SSN) in business. As a result of this changing legislation and the anticipation that other states will soon follow in this direction, BNY Mellon will be removing all SSN references from your check and electronic deposit notifications sent to you. Currently the first five numbers of a pensioner’s social security number appear on these statements as the Account number. However, effective with the payments dated after 12/15/2007, this information will be removed.

BNY Mellon is committed to doing everything possible to provide a safe, secure communication to you in regard to your pension payments. Should you have any questions relative to the removal of this information, please do not hesitate to contact the Retirement office at (559) 457-0681.
