ANNUAL NOTICE OF RIGHT TO ELECT OR REVOKE FEDERAL TAX WITHHOLDING

Attention Retirees! – Included in your June 30, 2010 benefit check or notification of deposit will be a letter from State Street Retiree Services regarding the Annual Notice of Right to Elect or Revoke Federal Tax Withholding. The notice is required of benefit disbursement Banks under the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982 (TEFRA) to inform all pension payment recipients of their right to elect their own federal tax withholding.

If you wish to change your current federal tax withholding, you may find the W4-P on our website by following this link or please contact the FCERA office at (559) 457-0681 to request a W-4P Withholding Certificate for Pension or Annuity Payments.

All requests to change your federal withholding election must be done through the submission of a signed W4-P. All signed and submitted W4-P’s received by the 10th day of the month will be applied to the benefit payment in the month received. Signed W4-P’s received after the 10th day of the month will be applied in the following month.
